Do you know what EBP stands for?
Created By: Patterson, Melissa On Wed, Jun 09, 2010 03:33 PM
Since I am customer service, I just got an email from a nurse who told me about how another nurse was confused when she mentioned EBP (evidence-based practice) on the floor.  It seems this is something of which many nurses still aren't aware.  There continues to be a mismatch between what we know to be quality care and the quality of care that is delivered. EBP is one solution.

Maybe you know what "EBP" means but don't know enough about it to impact patient care.  Whoever is not familiar with EBP can become acquainted with it through AMSN.  We have an evidence-based practice module on our website, www.amsn.org.  You can find it under the Education menu, labeled "Evidence-Based Practice Module."  Read through Module I via PowerPoint or Adobe Acrobat to understand what EBP is and why it is important.

If you know why EBP is important and want to know more about it, use Module II to learn about the Iowa Model of EBP.

Go to AMSN's Evidence-Based Practice modules.
