Terms of Use

A. Purpose

The resource library is a social networking web-based service that allows AMSN leaders, committees, chapters or other approved groups to upload and share pertinent files of virtually any type for private or public access.
 

B. Definitions

  1. Resource Library – a social media file sharing solution that allows authorized members, committees or chapters to share documents, videos, podcasts, photos, presentations, and more with their peers and colleagues.
  2. Private Access – Limited access to files or eGroup that is verified by group membership. It is recommended that each subgroup keep all working files private i.e. educational planning meeting minutes, discussion of award nominees, rough drafts of policies, etc.
  3. Public Access – Open and free access to visitors of AMSN’s website or non-members of committees/sub-groups who will have limited access to content such as: read-only access to files (including download) or posted questions/responses. Only designate files for public access when they are considered final and in publication quality i.e. policies or educational event registration forms.
  4. eGroup* -  A shared electronic communication system for a sub-community within the member-verified community such as an AMSN National Committee, AMSN Chapter, AMSN Board of Directors (BOD)
  5. Community Member – AMSN national member profile confirms membership in good standing and access to social networking feature authorized within scope of identified user requirements.
*Possibility of access limitation.  Needs to meet identified user requirements.

C. Duties and Responsibilities of AMSN Committees, Chapters & Other Subgroups


  1. Designates one primary and one back-up member responsible for posting and maintaining Microsite/Resource Library content.  
  2. Posts content, directly to Microsite/Resource Library, that is appropriate, current, and relevant, of good quality (grammar, speaking style, and professionalism) and consistent with organizational mission, goals and objectives, and profession’s best practices and methodologies.
  3. Edits own Microsite/Resource Library content for information accuracy using reliable sources and references.
  4. Removes outdated or irrelevant Microsite/Resource Library files or media.
  5. Review reader ratings to identify problematic material or poor quality content.
  6. Recommends links to non-profit organizations or government agencies to AMSN Website Committee.
  7. Directs requests to post paid advertising for recruitment or product to AMSN National Office.
  8. Directs requests to post an official position on a political issue or major nursing practice issue to AMSN Board of Directors by contacting the sub-group’s Board Liaison.

D. Duties and Responsibilities of Website Committee

  1. Has oversight responsibility for overall quality/appropriateness of content on the Resource Library on AMSN's Website.
  2. Reviews Microsites/Resource Libraries, as assigned, in accordance with guideline at a minimum of one time a month.
  3. Collaborates with AMSN committee or other sub-groups when modification / deletion need(s) are identified.
  4. Collaborates with designated National Office staff in overall coordination and improvement of Resource Library.
  5. Collaborates with AMSN national leadership in overall coordination and improvement of Resource Library.
  6. Reports to BOD through an assigned liaison.
